Impotent notice from you Bank!
July 16th, 2007 Dangerous Computer Stuff

I received an email today, it seemed pretty important. It was from my bank. Never mind that it didn’t come to the email address I use for my bank, they seemed all flustered about my account information. I have posted it below. My comments are in the brackets (that’s [] thingys).

Dear Valued Customer : [They sent it to me, but the don’t know who I am?]

We are unable to activate your account because we have just upgraded our online security parameters to make your Bank [capital B? - when did ‘bank’ become a proper noun?] account and informations [more than one information mind you] more secured [notice secure is past-tense, what are they doing for me in the present?] from online frauds [multiple frauds, not just one, but MANY],so we request that you reconfirm your online Banking [is there such a thing as a proper verb?] details with the one [I have to supply details (plural) to confirm the one (singular) they have for me - man I really should have paid better attention in math class] we have on file before you will be able to send and receive money online.

Your account may be place [not placed?] on restricted status. Restricted accounts continue to receive payments, but they are limited in their ability to send or withdraw funds [should do wonders for my ability to save money then - THANKS!]. To lift this restriction [wait, you said it may be place on restricted status - now you’re saying it is place on restricted status? WTF?], you need to login into your account (with your username or SSN [my username or SSN? My own ‘Bank’ doesn’t know if they require a username or an SSN for logins? This is starting to sound a little fishy] and your password), then you have to complete our verification process. You must reconfirm your credit card details and your billing information as well. All restricted accounts have their billing information unconfirmed, meaning that you may no longer send money from your account until you have reconfirm your billing information on file.

Click here to Sign in to Online Banking to reactivate your Bank [again, when did ‘bank’ become a proper noun?] account now.

Thank You.

Well, thankfully, I was able to follow the link and put in Hillary Clinton’s information. I don’t really care about my account, but I would hate for her account to be frozen like that!

   Stumble it!
