In America, we have what we refer as Freedom of Speech. This is guaranteed to each and every one of us by the 1st amendment to the Constitution of the United States of America. Nothing can take this freedom away from us.
As an American, in America, I have the right to say that I have nothing but contempt for Nancy Pelosi and her ilk. I have the right to say that America is the greatest country in the universe, and all other countries are second rate. I have the right to say that I believe all Islamofacists should be given a one-way ticket to meet their maker.
In Canada, I can’t say those things. In Canada it is illegal for me to deliver “messages that are likely to expose a person to hatred or contempt”. The Canuck government is in somewhat of a quandary. They pretend their people have freedom of speech. But they have laws that dictate what their people are able to talk about in a public forum. The problem is that many Canadian bloggers and forums are moving to web hosts here in America, where their government is unable to filter the message their citizens want to express.
God it’s good to be an American!
