And at the top of their list is (of course) the Sony Playsation 3. The thing I didn’t know about he PS3 is that it is also a Blu-Ray player, and is Wi-Fi enabled. Even at a pricey $600, it is (I think) the least expensive Blu-Ray player on the market.Â
All the consoles are in, and our editors have posted a final score in the next-gen gaming war. According to our three-way battle, Sony’s PlayStation 3 is the gaming machine to beat. With high-def games and Blu-ray movies, backward compatibility with prior PS2 and PS1 games, a great UI, and HDMI output, it’s the most well-rounded of the new machines. But its price is a definite barrier: $600 for the Wi-Fi-enabled 60GB version. The $250 Nintendo Wii is a great buy for the budget-minded, while the Xbox 360 has more great games and excellent online play
