The People’s State of Canada
June 10th, 2008 under Persecution, Personal Rights, Politial Correctness, Propaganda, Values. [ Comments: none ]

Canada. I’ve written some about the state of freedom in our neighbor to the north (or, to the east for those of you in Alaska). With the current kangaroo court called the Canadian Human Rights Council, which is trying its best to convict someone for writing about how, based on statistical numbers, Muslims in Europe with out-populate the natives there. They call that hate speech. Go figure.

Canada needs to change its name to ‘The People’s State of Canada’. Because that name better reflects what it is becoming. Just a few short months ago in Texas, the state moved in and seized some 400+ children from a polygamist compound. The grounds for this over-reaching and illegal maneuver was a falsified claim of abuse. What as abuse going on at the compound? Don’t know, maybe, but the state swept in and took all of these children from their parents in blanket KGB style fashion.

The People’s State of Canada must have looked at that woeful Texas incident, and been impressed. There are two kids up in Winnipeg, Manitoba up there in the People’s State of Canada who have a pair of complete losers for parents. Their parents are bigoted, white-supremacist racist pigs. And they, of course, are teaching this bile to their own kids.

Little did this couple know they were no longer living in a free state. Heck I don’t know for certain, maybe Canada was never really a free state to begin with. Although, the Canucks I have had dealings with in the past seemed perfectly normal. In addition, it doesn’t seem that our northern cousins are flocking to America to experience our free and open society. So I guess I just kind of assumed they were free, like we are. Ok, wait, I’m getting off track here. Back to the issue….

So the People’s State of Canada does not like that this couple are vile racist pigs, and determine that they should not be allowed to raise their own kids, and in KGB (or State of Texas – if you would rather) they sweep in and grab up the children and remove them from their parents, to be placed in state custody. The next hearing is set for 23 June.

This is outrageous, preposterous and many other *ous words that I can’t even think of right now. Now, sexual or physical abuse, or even extreme emotional abuse, yeah, yank the kids outta there without a second thought. But to remove these children from their parents because the People’s State of Canada does not like what the parents believe? Does not like who the parents associates with? How can the good people of Canada stand by and watch this oppression take place. In this day and age? After all we’ve seen in recent memory? After Hitler, after Stalin? After Tibet? After all of this, the people of Canada just sit back and say ‘oh well’?

I am appalled, as much by the silence of the Canucks, as I am by the actions of their government. I simply cannot understand how you all can sit back and watch something like this happen. Regardless of how despicable these parents are, regardless of what their own personal beliefs are. To take their children from them because of their ‘thoughts’. Wrong, just plain wrong. Oh sure, the line is drawn, if you have kids, and you think this way, we’ll take them from you. Funny thing about these types of lines though. They are not static. The never, ever stay in one location. And you people who are on the ’safe’ side of the line now, will one day find yourself on the wrong side of the line. What then?

I’ll close with a paraphrased version of Martin Niemoller’s poem:

When the People’s State of Canada came for the bigots,
I remained silent;
I was not a bigot.

When they took the children from the racists,
I remained silent;
I was not a racist.

When they muzzled the activists,
I did not speak out;
I was not a activist,

When they came for me,
there was no one left to speak out.

McCain’s camp obtains strange bedfellows
January 29th, 2008 under Elections, Politics, Propaganda. [ Comments: none ]

John McCain, a decorated veteran and war hero, has made no little amount of buzz regarding his honorable and distinguished service during the Vietnam war. With that in mind, one would have to wonder why his campaign, for all intents and purposes, openly endorses the antics of a hate-ridden blogger who served about 8 months in the Navy, and yet claims to have been a Navy SEAL, have earned multiple purple hearts, along with the distinguished Navy Cross. These claims are in direct violation of the Stolen Valor act. Of course, he’ll claim it is his First Amendment right to defraud people in this manner. But whatever.

The thing is, I’m not certain why Sheridan Folger would praise this hate-mongerer who wouldn’t know the truth if it snuck up and bit him in the ass.

Cristy Li has more about it all here.

Distasteful material should not be prohibited
October 12th, 2007 under Censorship, Propaganda, Sensitivity, Society, Totalitarianism. [ Comments: 2 ]

In the small town of Aspen, CO- home to exceptional skiing and quaint shops (and formerly John Denver), a controversy has brewed. It appears there is a film on the internet titled “Judea Declares War on Germany.” I haven’t seen it, nor have I even heard of it before this recent flap. By the title, I am surmising the film bends towards the anti-Semitic and attempts to justify the Nazi led attempt at genocide.The controversy arrives courtesy of Steve Campbell of Glenwood Springs, CO. He asked local television station GrassRoots TV to air the film. Knowing the film would be extremely controversial, the station’s board of directors opened the subject for debate. Most people haven’t seen the film, but believe it is a film depicting denial of the holocaust. But Campbell says the film does not deny the holocaust, but tries to show other evidence that is not widely discussed.

It seems to me, by the title and the description given by Campbell, that the film is severely titled against the Jews. An attempt to justify the attempted genocide by Nazi Germany. Of course, if the people who believe in censorship have their way, the good folks in Roaring Fork Valley may never know what the film depicts.

Believe me, I can understand, and have a hard time not siding with, the good, decent, upstanding folks who don’t want this film aired. More than the likely the film is not more than a pack of vile, disgusting half-truths and out-and-out lies. But does that mean it should be banned? It was banned in Australia already. Of course, it can’t be shown in France or Germany because holocaust denial is actually a crime in those places. Are we to do that here as well? Are we to make a crime out of exercising one’s free speech?

While the Constitution of the United States of America guarantees us, each and every one of us, free speech, it guarantees nothing in the way of a forum for that speech. It does not dictate that every television or radio station or newspaper or magazine must broadcast our speech, or give any air or print time to that speech. So while the GrassRoots TV station will be completely within its rights to not air the film, I tend to think along the lines of Harvie Branscomb who, at the meeting, declared:

“I’m scared of information totalitarianism.”

As well as Sheila Markowitz, of Glenwood Springs, CO who, at the same meeting, stated:

“I am afraid when I’m told I can’t see something, I would rather have this be seen and let people decide.”

Look, people by and large are not idiots. Even the lefties out in Aspen, CO are not idiots. Heck, if they can afford to live in Aspen, they have to be doing something right. By refusing to allow this film to be seen, the board is telling the folks of Roaring Fork Valley that they are too stupid to know what is truth and what is fiction. That they are so stupid they will all suddenly become skinheads just by watching this film.

I know this much, if someone says that I can’t watch a film or read a book because it is bad for me, I’m pretty much going to run out and do just that. I would have to see what is so bad that it required being banned. I remember the movie “Children of the Damned” when I was quite a bit younger. I remember wanting so badly to see that movie because the newspaper adverts declared in big bold letters “Banned in Cleveland” – or it could have been Chicago, or some other city, but that isn’t the point – the point is, by declaring that movie to be banned I just had to see the movie! I had to see what it was about. I didn’t like the movie much as I recall, it seemed fairly banal. But it got me to see it.

Now I’m probably going to feel the inexplicable need to hunt down this movie and watch it. Just because the government of Australia says their citizens can’t, and even more so because it seems like the board of directors at GrassRoots TV will also tell their viewing audience they can’t see it either. I’m pretty sure I can find the thing on the YouTube.

There is no room for history in…history?
May 24th, 2007 under Academia, Education, Islam, Propaganda. [ Comments: none ]

In a move that is becoming dangerously typical, the school system in Great Britain seems to be, not quite re-writing history, but at least grossly ignoring it.

Some teachers are no longer teaching the history of Europe as it actually happened. They are skipping parts because they fear offending certain groups (ok, I’m caught, it is Muslims they are afraid of offending). For instance, they do not teach about the Crusades because Muslims learn a different version in their Mosques. Also, they do not teach about the Holocaust because they fear offending Muslims who might be Holocaust deniers (never mind the descendants of Holocaust survivors that are probably offended to a greater extend by its omission in history).

It truly and deeply saddens me that a country as staunch as Great Britain has come to this. They have bent to the will of political correctness. Fix their history, not to claim the Holocaust never happened, but to simply ignore it. Perhaps they believe if they ignore it, it will just go away. I don’t know who said it first, but it has been said, many, many times, that if one does not heed history they are doomed to repeat it.

War Leaders put Imus’ head on a stake
April 16th, 2007 under Humor, Propaganda. [ Comments: none ]

Well, this explains everything! I had been wondering about the whole Imus affair. Wondering why it has now been in the forefront of all media for the past almost two weeks. This guy, who spouted some stupid stuff – and was summarily fired by his employers – gets two weeks of up front and in your face news coverage. All of the talk radio goobs are spewing forth their opines about the whole ordeal.

It seems that every time I turn on a radio or television, there is an Imus story either currently playing, or just around the corner. To be certain, I am sick and tired of hearing about Don Imus. I never listened to the guy, and frankly I don’t really care. Was his right to free speech impeded? No. He had every right to say what he said, just as his employers had every right to fire him for what he said (or for any other reason for that matter). Just as the Dixie Chicks whined about radio stations not playing their music after their Euro-trashing of the W, so Imus fans (it seems mosty right-wingers this time) are whining about him being fired.

Who cares? It was not the government that fired him, it was a private business entity with no ties to the government. At least, that is what we all thought.

In a clear sign of its intent to reign in dissident American media personalities, and their growing influence in American culture, US War Leaders this past week launched an unprecedented attack upon one of their most politically ‘connected’, and legendary, radio hosts named Don Imus after his threats to release information relating to the September 11, 2001 attacks upon that country.

Now it is all starting to make some sense to me. Now we can all be outraged. It was the government that shut him up. It was W and his cronies that pulled the strings at MSNBC and CBS to encourage them to show Imus the door. Now I understand that the Imus story is still front page news after almost two weeks, the AWM wants to keep it up front as long as possible as a warning to other media personnel that they better not try to say anything the AWM does not agree with. Sort of like putting the heads of one’s enemies on stakes around one’s castle.
