Government sponsored racism?
September 30th, 2007 under EU, Race, Stupid Laws. [ Comments: none ]

With all the talk of how European countries are so ‘enlightened’ these days with regards to just about everything; race, religion, sexuality, drugs and on and on, I would never have expected this type of thing from the EU. Especially in light of how some are saying that the term ‘race’ is an outdated term that doesn’t really apply to groups of people in the traditional sense (i.e. Hispanics, Blacks, Asians, Arabs etc).

The EU comes out now with an idea that should send chills through the spine of any thinking person. The EU wants to classify people based on their race. That’s correct, the European Union is moving to direct member states to collect race information on all of their citizens, and pass that onto Brussels.

People who have knowledge of history, may be worried (and rightfully so) that this kind of thing cannot lead to any good whatsoever. Will Jews’ passports soon be stamped with a “J”? Will the passports of Muslims be emblazoned with an “I”? When something happens in the EU, will ’rounding up the usual suspects’ simply mean folks of a specific race?

All of this and more is certainly not only possible, but probable if the EU follows through with this directive.

Read all about it at the European Parliament website.

At Least Our Lettuce Is Cheap
May 3rd, 2007 under Constitutional Rights, Culture, Government, Immigration, Me, Politics, Race. [ Comments: none ]

Yesterday was 1 May. Some may remember 1 May of 2006. That is the day where numerous immigrants, most of them Hispanic, and a great many of them who entered this country illegally, staged mass rallies, marches and demonstrations around the country demanding they be treated as legal citizens.

There are two ways to become a citizen of the United States of America. The obvious first way is to be born here. The second is to earn one’s citizenship by going through proper channels, following the laws of this land and contributing to society. People who enter the country illegally start off on the wrong foot already. Sure, they only want a better life for themselves and their children. But the exact same argument could be made by the bank robber. That argument doesn’t wash. The ends does not justify the means.

What ticked off so many Americans about the demonstrations last year, was that these people, who came here illegally, were demanding rights that were not theirs to demand. All the while they were flying the flags of their homeland, and cursing America and degrading the United States. Some were even calling for a large portion of the United States to be returned to Mexico. This kind of disrespect for my country makes me ashamed to be a beaner. They come here illegally, and refuse to learn the language, and refuse to assimilate into the American culture, and then are surprised that they are treated harshly?

Of course America needs immigrants. America was built by immigrants. It could be said that every man, woman and child in America either came from somewhere else, or their ancestors did. And don’t get with the Indians, because they came across the Aleutian land bridge millennea before whitey landed on the east coast. So yes, we are all immigrants, or descendants of immigrants. The difference being that most of our ancestors came here legally. They came with the proper papers and the learned the language and assimilated into the culture.

American culture is extremely unique in the world. When a group of immigrants comes into the country, we take their culture and merge it with our own. How else could one explain Italian restaurants in every town. St. Patrick’s Day parades across the nation. And Cinco de Mayo. Cinco de Mayo is a huge Mexican celebration. But everyone celebrates it. On St. Patrick’s Day, everyone is Irish for the day, on Cinco de Mayo, everyone is Mexican for the day.

The fact of the matter is, our lawmakers in Washington must take measures to secure the borders. Without secure borders, we cannot be a secure nation. Without secure borders, there is no point in trying to live the farce that we are a sovereign nation of laws. If we don’t secure the borders and create a simpler, more streamlined process by which people can obtain temporary work visas, then we are doomed.

“Four score and seven years ago our fathers brought forth on this continent, a new nation, conceived in Liberty, and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal.” – Abraham Lincoln

We say that everyone should be treated equally, yet we turn a blind eye to the abusive and slave-like conditions in which the illegal migrant worker is forced to endure. We recently raised the minimum wage, but we did not raise the minimum wage for everyone. We raised the minimum wage only for those legal to live and work in the United States. The illegal immigrant is still paid next to nothing. They have no health insurance, they work for practically slave wages, and then to have those wages docked to help pay their ‘coyotes’ which brought them here. Many girls are forced into prostitution.

Those who advocate doing nothing to stem the tide of illegal immigration are promoting these abhorrent conditions. They are advocating for a permanent class of sub-standard persons. To me, as a beaner, this is unacceptable. Who cares if these people are forced to work in conditions that most people would not allow their dogs to live in? But hey, at least our lettuce is cheap – right?

When is dropping your own book a crime?
April 13th, 2007 under Constitutional Rights, Crime, Cry-Babies, Free Speech, Government, Islam, Race, Religion. [ Comments: none ]

The Leaf-Chronicle of Clarksville, Tenn reports that federal agents are investigating the defacement of a Quran. The book in question was discovered on the steps of the Islamic Center of Clarksville last Friday (Good Friday to the Christian folk).

Now, the book has written – described as ‘vandalized’ by the rag that ran the story – had the words “Mohammad pedophile” scribbled in it, along with some other expletives. In addition, the book was smeared with bacon. The Clarksville PD reported it as a hate crime. I am wondering where the crime is here? Is it a crime to smear bacon on a book? Is it a crime to write something in your own book? Is it a crime to leave your book on the front steps of a house of worship?

I do not know about the state of Tennessee, nor the City of Clarksville, but I am fairly certain that it is definitely not a federal crime to do any of the things that were done to this book.  The book is a book, like the Bible is a book, like the Torah is a book, like Moby Dick is a book, like Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone is a book. Under the laws of the United States of America one has the right to do whatever they want to their own book (unless they cause physical damage with it to a person or property – which did not happen here).

There was no criminal vandalism involved here. The act was stupid and hateful and designed to offend. But the last time I checked, it was not against any law, nor did it abridge any one’s rights to offend someone. People in the United States of America do not have the right to not be offended.

That is what this is really all about. The Muslims are offended that a non-Muslim would treat their precious holy book in such a manner. Well get over it! Ever hear the phrase “when in Rome, do as a Roman does?”

Nobody was threatened, nobody was injured, no property was damaged. The only thing that was injured in any way shape or form was some peoples sensibilities. News flash sparky, if someone injures your sensibilities, it is not a criminal offense. Take them to civil court all day long, that is what it is there for, but quit wasting taxpayer dollars on bogus crimes.

The FBI is trying desperately, I fear, to find a crime in this action, then they can tack on the “hate crime” tag and really go after the person. The only crime, and this is a stretch, that could have been committed here is trespassing. But I don’t think the building had any “No Trespassing” signs posted.

What surprised the heck out of me was that CAIR has nothing about this on their website. Not one word.

I want to than LadyPredator - from whose site I learned of this atrocity.

The right to offend
April 11th, 2007 under Censorship, Constitutional Rights, Free Speech, Race, Sensitivity, Society, Tolerance. [ Comments: none ]

I’m shocked! SHOCKED I tell you, that the freedom loving defenders of free speech like the Revs Sharpton and Jackson are calling for the tar-and-feathering of Don Imus (okay, that was sarcastic, I’m not really shocked…it was expected).

Everyone who currently has a pulse has heard about the Don Imus
debacle. It seems Imus, on his morning radio program, called the
ladies of Rutger’s basketball team “nappy-haired hos” or something
along those lines (I’m paraphrasing).

Personally, I cannot honestly say that I have ever listened to Imus. It is possible that I captured some of this stuff while simply surfing around the radio on long drives or something like that. But I’ve never actually tuned in to hear what he had to say. What I’m saying is, I don’t know what this guy is about. I don’t know if he is political, and if so, which way he leans or if he leans at all.

What I do know is that in the Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave, one has the right to free speech. But one does not have any right whatsoever to NOT be offended. This is the bottom line.  People are screaming for Imus to be fired. Should he be? No. He should not be fired for being a idiot. What should (and probably will happen) is for his advertisers to pull out. Quit advertising on the show, then the show will no longer be profitable, and whoever it is that produces his show will have to cancel the show due to lack of advertisers. When people start getting fired because they say something stupid or offensive, this land of free speech takes a grievous turn in the wrong direction.

Unexpected view from the EU
March 23rd, 2007 under Free Speech, Personal Rights, Race, Religion. [ Comments: none ]

I almost spit coffee through my nose this morning reading the article “Political Correctness Is Killing Our Freedoms” in the British online rag the Telegraph.  I had not dared to imagine that people in Europe believe individual freedoms trump people being offended.  It truly is good news to hear.

Mr Barroso insists that the rights of the individual, within the law, over moral strictures from either secular or religious communities, are sacred.

Cities must not audit minority businesses
March 12th, 2007 under Cry-Babies, Government, Race. [ Comments: none ]

George and Pamela Johnson started a business in the 1990’s with the noble goal of helping folks on welfare get training and work.  This is a noble goal, and they had received several awards for their work.

Their business, The Diversified Educational Training and Manufacturing Co (is that a mouthful or what?) received taxpayer funds for student tuition, books and the like.  During a 2003 audit, the city of Wichita, KS (where the company was based) found numerous discrepancies.  They found the city was billed tuition for students that didn’t attend the school, and for books which students never received.

But of course, when the city cut off funding, it wasn’t because the Johnsons were doing anything wrong… it was because of racism (natch!).

Black vs. White – what more do you need?
December 17th, 2006 under Government, Persecution, Race. [ Comments: none ]

The accuser is black, the accused are white.  Apperantly that makes an open and closed case for Durham District Attorney Mike Nifong.  From the beginning of this whole Duke university LaCross rape case, everything has been hinky.

Nifong did win re-election, and Bigsibling is would bet dollars to donuts part of that is because of his relentless pit-bull like attacks on the three Duke students a drunk stripper accused of raping her.

It now seems that back in May a private laboratory conducted DNA analysis on body fluids taken from the victim’s body and under garments.  Those results were never released to the public (at the request of Mr. Nifong).  It was, in fact, a cover up.

The photo line up that Nifong used to have the victim identify her alleged attackers was faulty and not only did not follow Durham PD policies, but it was such a sham it violated any thinking person’s idea of being remotely fair.

Now it looks like the case against the innocent students will probably be dismissed (without a clear verdict of not guilty).  This is probably Nifong’s tactic from the beginning.  He knew there was no way these kids were guilty, and there was no way he could have won, so he creates a climate where the students would get off on a ‘technicality.’

Now he can claim that he wanted to prosecute the students but the lab messed up in reporting their results, and that is why the kids went free.  Not because they are obviously innocent.
