Muslims sue normal people for reporting suspicious behavior |

The six imams who were removed from an airplane because they were acting exactly like terrorists are suing the airline. I commented on this here.
It was expected from the beginning they would sue the airline. After all, it looks suspiciously like that is what they had intended all the while. I certainly hope that U.S. Airways will remain steadfast and NOT settle with these ‘legis-terrorists’ (legis one Latin word for “law” for those who went to public school – oh c’mon, we have eco-terrorists, why can’t we have legis-terrorists?).
What I hadn’t seen coming (and it irks me, because I should have) is that these imams are not only suing the airlines, but the passengers as well. So these six Muslims who were rightfully removed from an airplane for acting in a manner completely consistent with terrorists, are suing normal people for doing what they have been instructed to do since 9/11 – report suspicious behavior.
My only worry is that, in this insipid muck of a legal system where we see jury verdicts that simply contradict common sense, not only will some putz leftist judge let this thing go forward, some putz leftist jury will award the legis-terrorists damages.
If that happens, watch for a huge increase of lawsuits as Muslims sue normal people for looking them in the eye…or not looking them in the eye…whatever they can think of.

New virus hiding as IE7 download |

I’m just trying to spread the word here – I don’t do this much, but I believe this to be very important
Trojan masquerades as IE 7 downloads by ZDNet’s Ryan Naraine — Spammers are using fake Internet Explorer 7 (Beta 2) downloads to lure Windows users into downloading a nasty backdoor Trojan. The fake downloads are part of a massive spam run that includes an official-looking graphic (see image below) linked to Web sites that auto-launch an executable named “ie7.exe.” A copy of this spam that landed in my [...]

Mothers deserve more than one day year! |

It seems that holidays in this age are a dime a dozen. Take a look at any calendar, and one will undoubtedly see a holiday at least once each month, and more than likely two or three a month. They’ll give anything a holiday these days. But one day a year, it is a special day. It was created to honor the most honorable of people. I’m talking about Mother’s day.Of course finding a gift can be difficult. For mother, one wants to get something different, deserving and unique. Mothers are not just people. They kiss the boo-boos and make them all better. They fix scraped knees and help to let one know that broken hearts do indeed mend. And is there anybody in the world that can make a better peanut butter and jelly sandwich than a mother? Then there are all those pants that needed hemmed. The high-waters at the end of the school year that miraculously, as if by magic, transformed themselves into shorts of store-bought quality by the time the weather got hot again.
Pumpkin pies at Christmas. Ice cream after the tee-ball games. And an endless task of sewing merit and rank badges on the Boy Scout uniforms. Clean clothes and pressed shirts and home-cooked meals. All this while maintaing some semblence of a clean house and holding down a full time job. Most mothers do more in a week than fathers do in a month. Not to be bashing dads, I’m not (I am one) but even I realize that my kids’ mother does so much more.Â
It seems to me, now that I am older, that there should be more than just one day set aside for mothers. There should be at least one day each month.

So…where is the problem? |

The New York Times reports that the income gap is getting bigger. That top 10 percent of wage earners pulled in a minimum of $100K last year, while the rest of us dropped 0.6 percent.
The new data also shows that the top 300,000 Americans collectively
enjoyed almost as much income as the bottom 150 million Americans. Per
person, the top group received 440 times as much as the average person
in the bottom half earned, nearly doubling the gap from 1980.
Please note that in the article, the top 300K Americans enjoyed the income and received 440 times as much as the average Joe (read: you and me). They ENJOYED and RECEIVED the income. But apparently, according to the NYT, they did not EARN it. I would submit that those people EARNED their money. It was not a gift. It was not alms. It was not taken from someone who had earned it and given to them.
My question is ’so what?’. What is the problem here? Those that produce should earn more. Those with a abilities should profit from them. Those with no abilities, or those who do not produce, should get less. It is as simple as that.
The Times article is attempting to create class envy. The Times believes that those who have abilities and produce should give their money to those who have not abilities or who do not produce. It is a typical socialist/communist agenda they are pushing.
I have asked it before, and I will continue to ask it. By what right do those who do not produce demand to be supported by those who do produce? By what right do those who will not help themselves demand that the producers work for their benefit? By what right does the bloke at McDonald’s deserve anything other than what he receives?

The State decides who will commit crimes |

A new policy proposed by the Blair government over there in Great Britain wants to mandate that all children are checked an monitored to see if they are at risk of committing crimes later in life.
The Government’s plan to prevent crime said: “Establish universal
checks throughout a child’s development to help service providers to
identify those most at risk of offending.
What would society do without the State to protect us from ourselves? Is there no longer any personal responsibility? With this type of program, not only is it extremely invasive, but criminals of the future can shirk their responsibility claiming that the State itself has determined that he would be a criminal. With a sentence like that hanging over one’s head, what is one expected to do?

A tax with a view… |

This is exactly the reasoning to NOT follow through with a national sales or value added tax. Sheesh. England now has what essentially amounts to a ‘boob tax’.
Lap-dancers at one of Britain’s biggest strip clubs must pay their own value added tax (VAT) bills, a senior judge ruled on Friday.

Unexpected view from the EU |

I almost spit coffee through my nose this morning reading the article “Political Correctness Is Killing Our Freedoms” in the British online rag the Telegraph. I had not dared to imagine that people in Europe believe individual freedoms trump people being offended. It truly is good news to hear.
Mr Barroso insists that the rights of the individual, within the law, over moral strictures from either secular or religious communities, are sacred.

Apple TV is NOT NEW (no matter what they say) |
| March 20th, 2007 under Technology. [ Comments: 2 ]

Big headline over at PCWorld with Apple TV Starts Shipping. Pardon me why I don’t give a leap. The article is touting this as if it is something completely new and innovative.
First introduced during Macworld Expo in January, Apple TV bridges the gap between the computer and the home entertainment system. The device has connections for USB 2, Ethernet, HDMI, component video and optical audio connections. It also supports three popular 802.11 wireless standards–802.11b, 802.11g, and 802.11n–allowing users to wirelessly stream content from Macs or PCs running iTunes 7 to a TV.
I guess the iTunes 7 part is new. But as for the rest of it, PC users have had this ability for…what…three or four years now? Apple is just playing catch up to the PC universe. No, I don’t mean that Microsoft has had this ability (at least not before XP Media Center), but there were plenty of applications that came with high-end video cards that allowed one to basically turn a stale old desktop PC into a DVR.
It seems to me that Apple does this kind of thing quite frequently. How long were MP3 players on the market before Apple launched their iPod and suddenty portable music was something new? And now I see they have their iPhone – which is something that has been around for at least a year and probably more, but not running Apple software. And it is new?
I wonder when one of these publications like PC World or ZD Net or CNet or one along those lines will actually call Apple on their ‘innovations’ and say “hey, my phone has done video and played MP3s for the last two years, why is this new?”
Probably never. Oh well.

Monckton throws down the gauntlet |
| March 20th, 2007 under Climate Change, Global Warming, Science. [ Comments: none ]

|
Our dear friend Viscount Monckton of Brenchley is at it again. If you remember I did a post about him here. At that time he was calling for a couple of US senators to resign.
Now he is challenging our beloved (ex) Vice President, Al Gore. It seems that Monckton does not believe that humans are having such a terrible effect on the planet’s climate. That weather cycles and other natural happenings are causing all of these climate problems.
To that end, Monckton has issued a challenge to Gore. To what Monckton calls the “Second Great Debate.” He wants it to be televised and broadcast from the Oxford Museum of Natural History.
<HISTORY LESSON> – The Oxford Museum of Natural History was the setting for what has become the “Great Debate” between Bishop Wilberforce and scientist T.H. Huxley regarding evolution vs. creationism.</HISTORY LESSON>
One may read the story on Breitbart here - also the actual challenge as it was mailed to Gore’s Tennessee compound (which uses more energy in one month than most people use in an entire year) may be read here.
Oh, yeah, one can find definitions for words used in the story like foofaraw at dictionary.com.
Thanks for visiting!
