It is a good day when…
October 31st, 2007 under Military, Phelps Cult. [ Comments: 1 ]

An update on the trial between Albert Snyder, father of Lance Cpl. Matthew Snyder who was killed in Iraq, and the Phelps cult. I posted about this a couple of days ago here.

The Kansas City Star’s online “Breaking News” section is reporting

Father of Marine awarded $2.9 million from Phelps family for anti-gay protest at funeral.

BALTIMORE — A federal jury delivered a $2.9 million verdictWednesday against the Phelps family of Topeka and their homophobe Westboro Baptist Church, a Kansas church that picketed the funeral of a Maryland Marine killed in an auto accident in Iraq last year.

It is believed to be the first individual lawsuit against the Phelps, who are infamous for picketing military and other funerals around the country. They do not contend that the dead soldiers are gay, but that their deaths are punishment by an angry God against the United States for its tolerance of homosexuality.

A grieving father, Albert Snyder, sued for unspecified damages after members staged a demonstration at the March 2006 funeral of his son, Lance Cpl. Matthew Snyder.

Family and church members, under the leadership of Fred Phelps, Sr., routinely picket funerals of military personnel killed in
Iraq and Afghanistan, carrying signs such as “Thank God for dead soldiers” and “God hates fags.”

Their actions have prompted several states to pass laws regarding funeral protests and Congress has passed a law prohibiting such protests at federal cemeteries.

My thoughts are “ding dong the witch is dead, the wicked witch is dead.” The church will probably not fold with on $2.9 million dollar lawsuit. But since Snyder was victorious, look for a plethora of other suits to follow. I’m thinking that this may finally be the end of the Phelps cult. They’ll have to sell their compound and I won’t be subjected to seeing that god-forsaken giant red and white banner which reads “www.godhatesamerica.com”, right next to their upside down flying Canadian flag, above their upside down flying American flag on my way to work.

Yee Haw!

UPDATE: 31 October, 2007 22:36

I just watched the local news, and they are reporting the judgement at $10.9 million. $2.9 million for compensatory damages, and $8 million for punitive damages. I don’t normally take pleasure in the suffering of others, but on this occasion, I will make an exception!

UPDATE: 1 November, 2007 09:31

I just had to add this picture, stolen borrowed from SoHos.

Lying about the 44 blocks

Lying about the 44 blocksWhen Tom Burnett Sr. came out against the Flight 93 Memorial, the press asked architect Paul Murdoch if there were really going to be 44 inscribed translucent blocks emplaced along the flight path (equaling the number of passengers, crew, AND terrorists). Murdoch acknowledged 43 of the blocks, but denied knowing about a 44th:

[T]here are 40 inscribed marble panels listing the names of the passengers and crew at the gateway to the Sacred Ground, where their remains still rest. There is then an opening in the wall, Mr. Murdoch said, and three additional panels, which would include the date, Sept. 11, 2001.

“Where the other one is being fabricated, I don’t know,” he said.

Yes he does. Paul Murdoch is fully aware of the large dedicatory glass block at the end of the Entry Portal Walkway:

44th glass block, at end of Entry Portal Walkway

Man and child stand in front of the 44th block, which forms the railing at the end of the Entry Portal Walkway. The glass block will be inscribed: “A field of honor forever.” This Walkway provides visitors with their first view of the inside of the giant crescent. (From the Entry Portal page of the original design PDFs. Click pic for wider view.)

The flight path

The Entry Portal Walkway is built along the flight path. It signifies, in Paul Murdoch’s own description, the terrorists breaking the circle and turning it into a giant crescent. The flight path then continues down to the crash site, which sits in the middle of the mouth of the giant crescent (in roughly the position of the star on an Islamic crescent and star flag).

Just before the impact point is the Memorial Wall, also built along the flight path. This two part wall is where the other 43 blocks will be placed (the ones described by Paul Murdoch above):

Memorial Wall with 43 glass blocks emplaced

The forty translucent blocks that run horizontally through the left hand section of wall (closest to the impact crater) will be inscribed with the names of the forty murdered heroes. The three on the right will be inscribed with the 9/11 date. (From the Sacred Ground Plaza page of the original design PDF’s. Click pic for larger image. The alternating white and gray depicts the zig zag layout of the translucent blocks.)

Challenged by the father of one of our murdered heroes, Murdoch told a desperate lie, feigning ignorance of one of the most prominent features of his own design: the huge glass block that dedicates the entire site. This should have been the end of his hijack attempt, but Murdoch’s deception was abetted by both the Memorial Project and the press.

The abettors

“That has been disproved so many times,” said Bill Hayworth, the Memorial Project’s PR flack, when asked about the 44 blocks. Would it have been too much for reporters to ask for this proof?

In fact Murdoch is the first one to ever even deny that there are 44 glass blocks on the flight path. The only earlier Memorial Project statement about the 44 blocks was from Project Manager Jeff Reinbold, who told Alec Rawls in an April 2006 conference call that the giant glass block can’t be counted with the small glass blocks because it is bigger: “If we are going to count the big glass block with the small glass blocks,” he said, “then we have to count the windows in the visitor center too.” (Crescent of Betrayal, download 3, p. 146.)

“The windows in the visitor center are not on the flight path,” Rawls replied. He never said they were all the same size, and he never said there are no other panes of glass in the Memorial. Reinbold’s silly dodges do not contradict Rawls’ 44 glass blocks claim in any way.

The press was also in on the deception. Kecia Bal, the reporter who quoted Hayworth’s dismissal of the 44 blocks claim had already verified the block count for herself. Mr. Rawls had earlier sent her close ups of all 44. She responded with a request for copies of the original design PDFs, so she could check the veracity of these close-ups for herself.

When Bal quoted Hayworth, she knew he was wrong, and allowed him to mislead the public by suppressing her own fact checking of the 44 blocks. People can think that the 44 blocks are innocuous if they want, but lying about the block count certainly is not innocuous. Similarly for many the other lies that are being told in defense of the crescent design.

Memorial Project members insist that it is just coincidence that a person facing directly into the giant crescent will be facing almost exactly at Mecca, but that isn’t what they are telling the public. They are telling the newspapers that the Mecca-orientation claim is false, while acknowledging amongst themselves that the Mecca orientation is real.

Again and again Murdoch, the Memorial Project and the press are lying in concert to cover up the facts of the design. Some people will be unsure what to make of the many suspicious features of the crescent design but no one should doubt the need to expose and condemn those who lie about the facts.

So what can we do? Write, phone or fax the memorial project.

The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob
October 30th, 2007 under Military, Religion, WTF?. [ Comments: 1 ]

One hater cries foul, and the National Cemetery Administration runs for cover. A complaint, which the NCA is refusing to release, has been lodged about the flag folding ceremony at Riverside National Cemetery. The complaint prompted the NCA to issue a new flag-folding script to be read as each part of the American flag is folded.

The complaint was made about the recitation of the eleventh fold. The recitation is:

The eleventh fold, in the eyes of a Hebrew citizen, represents the lower portion of the seal of King David and King Solomon, and glorifies, in their eyes, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

The twelfth fold mentions Christians:

The twelfth fold, in the eyes of a Christian citizen, represents an emblem of eternity and glorifies, in their eyes, God the Father, the Son, and Holy Ghost.

No folds mention atheists, nor Muslims. In the past, atheist attacks on God and the flag (i.e, the Pledge of Alliegence) have fallen short of anything changing. In addition, no complaint was made regarding the words to the twelfth fold. The only problem the one complainant had was to the eleventh fold. The fold that mentions Hebrews, and the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

Kind of leads one to wonder, who would make such a complaint? Sure, there are plenty of anti-Semitics out there, the white supremacists and the neo-nazi groups, but they have never made a stink like this before. Also, one would have to wonder why the NCA would cave to such a group. I don’t believe they would. These people are not politically correct enough. They are unapologetic Caucasian folks, and thus, the antithesis of political correctness. No, only some group that would fall into a victim category under the thumb of political correctness could make such a complaint, and have the cowards at NCA quaking in their boots.

If one thinks about it for just a little bit, one can come to the same conclusion I have. Which one group of haters can fall into that victim category, and still be so staunchly anti-Semitic that it shames the likes of Senator Byrd?

Stinks to be Canadian these days
October 29th, 2007 under Free Speech. [ Comments: 2 ]

Jessica Beaumont is a racist pig. She is definitely anti-Semitic, and it seems she hates most non-white peoples. She is a despicable person. She has admitted to posting over 1,000 messages on white-supremacist web-sites located right here in the US. The messages consist mainly of vile hate and blaming all of Canada’s (and the world’s) woes on the Jews. It is reported that courts in Canada have fined her C$1,500 for making the statements.

In Canada, the folks there believe they have free speech. Free speech Canadian style is that one is free to say what they want as long as they don’t offend anyone else. This is certainly not my idea of free speech, and I hope it isn’t your idea either. Free speech, American style is one can express their opinions. That’s it. It doesn’t hinge on whether one person, or one group of persons, are offended. In fact, if someone isn’t offended, the speech is probably not worth listening to.

The free flow of political ideas requires that some people, some where, are offended. Dr. King and Malcolm X offended a great many people with their speeches. The Hispanics marching in the streets last year, flying the Mexican flag, with some demanding that the southwest be returned to Mexico offended a great many people in the US. But the beauty is that they all have the right to do these things. They all are covered by the First Amendment and America’s version of free speech.

The Iranian president can come to America and spout his particular dialect of hate speech, and he has every right to do so. Just as those people who protested against him have their right to do just that. This week, all across American college campuses, there are a group of speakers speaking on what they see as the dangers of Islamo-facists (what some call – and I think more appropriately – Islamic-supremacists). There are hundreds, and possibly even thousands, of college kids on these campuses protesting against what they perceive as hate speech.

All of this. All of the speeches, and the protests and the counter-protests. All of this is what free speech – the American style of free speech – is about. Having the right to voice one’s opinion, no matter how benign, or how vile. The white-supremacists are vile despicable people. They hold a narrow-minded view of the world, and wrap it around what they perceive as Christian ideals. Forgetting, or simply not wanting to admit, that their savior, Jesus Christ, was a Jew. Some don’t believe He was a Jew, but in any case, He certainly wasn’t Caucasian. He wasn’t white.

But these idiots who brandish the Nazi party flag, and scream about white superiority are just as evil as those who brandish the crescent and star flag and scream about Islamic superiority. Just because these people are wrong, doesn’t mean they should be silenced. Let them cry out. Let them scream their lunatic screams, and the thinking people of America will see them for what they are. Is there anyone in America who has had their mind changed by the vile and in-your-face tactics performed by the Phelps cult circus? It’s more likely there are people who were straddling the fence but went to the other side because the Phelps cult does what they do

There are those out there (and you know who you are) who will decry this thing in Canada as a great victory for the eradication of hate speech. The only victory here, the only thing that ‘wins’ with this thing in Canada is the muzzle. The Canadian government decided what Beaumont was saying was not worthy of anyone to here, so they clamped a muzzle on her. They shut her down. Maybe it is just growing up in America, and relishing in the freedoms too many of us have taken for granted, but when someone says I can’t hear or see something, when someone says that some form of thought is dangerous, it just makes me want to search out those ideas, and see for myself why the government (or others – and you know who you are) declare that they should be the arbiters of what I can hear or see or read.

I can say with all certainty and clarity that I thank God today that I was not born, nor raised, nor reside in Canada. Perhaps if I didn’t so treasure the freedom of speech our founding fathers guaranteed for us, perhaps if I didn’t know any better, then I wouldn’t care so much. But I do cherish it, and I do know better. I feel sorry for our northerly neighbors, that they don’t know what it is like to have true free speech.

“You just answer the question.”
October 25th, 2007 under Free Speech, Phelps Cult. [ Comments: 5 ]

Fred Phelps was on the witness stand in a civil trial involving his cult. Phelps was asked if he had considered whether children would see a sign his cult members love to brandish. The sign reads “Semper Fi Fags” and contains the drawing of two stick figures appearing to engage in homosexual act.

“No, it’s an irrelevancy,” Phelps Said.
[U.S. District Judge] Bennet then interjected sharply.
“Just answer the question, sir. Don’t determine what’s relevant or not relevant. You just answer the question,” Bennet said.

Fred Phelps Satire Image from http://slog.thestranger.com

Any takers on which side of this trial the judge is leaning towards? Phelps, the Al-Qeada loving ‘minister’ of the ficticiously named “Westboro Baptist Church” here in Topeka is the driving force behind several states, and even the feds, creating laws limiting the time and place of funeral protesters. The cult is being sued for unspecified damages for invasion of privacy and intent to inflict emotional distress.

Believe me, I’m all about the First Amendment and the right to free speech. I don’t agree with the “time and place” laws limiting where and when one is allowed to exercise their free speech rights. While I don’t agree with the Phelps cult’s message any more than I agree with the implementation Sharia Law, I do support their right to spread their message. It is the same right that gives the rest of the ability to counter the message, and spread our own messages, no matter how distasteful.

That being said, I believe this civil lawsuit is the way to go about reining in this bigoted cult. While people have a right to free speech, unhindered by the government, there is nothing that says their speech can’t cause them hardship in the civil arena. Now, since I’m still a few hours short of my law degree, I don’t know if that whole “invasion of privacy” thing will stick, but certain the “intent to inflict emotional distress” not only holds water, but holds gallons – perhaps hundreds of gallons – of it. The signs the Phelps cult uses to get their message across are designed for the express purpose of getting people angry. I think they are just laying in wait, hoping for the day when someone walks up and clocks one of them right in the kisser. They’d have a field day with that lawsuit.

I am holding out hope that this lawsuit will go badly for the Phelps cult. And that the jury awards the grieving Mr. Snyder enough coinage to force them to sell off their compound and hold their meetings in a trailer court.

Don’t take Flight 93 to Mecca, blogburst 3: “A pig is a pig.”
October 24th, 2007 under Crescent of Betrayal. [ Comments: none ]

“A pig is a pig.”

When Tom Burnett Sr. was helping to pick a memorial to Flight 93, he objected vehemently to the planting of a huge Islamic shaped crescent on the crash site. The Project asked if he would be okay with the Crescent of Embrace design if they didn’t call it a crescent. He said no way:

What the hell? You change words. A pig is a pig!

No doubt about that.

A pig is a pig

“How about if we don’t CALL it a crescent?” (Click pic for larger image)

See that Memorial Plaza that is situated roughly in the position of the star on an Islamic crescent and star flag? It marks the crash site. It doesn’t have to be CALLED an Islamic star for this placement as the star on an Islamic flag to be inappropriate.

Mountain Goat and the 44 blocks

From PJ Country comes news of the Memorial Project’s latest effort to help architect Paul Murdoch adjust the disguise on his terrorist memorializing design, just enough for him to slip through gate security.

Mountain Goat” called the Memorial Project a few weeks ago to ask about the 44 inscribed translucent blocks that are to be emplaced along the flight path. (There were 40 heroes and 4 terrorists on the flight.)

The person he spoke to said that the three translucent marble blocks that were to be inscribed with the 9/11 date are going to be replaced with a single block, “roughly the length three of the other blocks would have been.”

That would reduce the block count from 44 to 42, but would it actually fix anything?

Whether the 9/11 date is inscribed on three blocks or one, these blocks are to be built into a separate section of Memorial Wall that is centered on the bisector of the giant crescent. That is the exact position of the star on an Islamic crescent and star flag. Thus the date goes to the Islamic flag–the date goes to the terrorists–no matter how many blocks are used.

Date centered on bisector of crescent

See that trail that enters the Memorial Plaza (the star on the flag) from the left? It divides the Memorial Wall into separate upper and lower sections. The upper section has the 9/11 date inscribed. You can see that this upper section of wall is centered on the bisector of the giant crescent (the exact position of an Islamic star). Click for larger image.

End it, don’t mend it

No amount of tweaking the design can alter its terrorist memorializing intent. “Fix” every one of the half dozen large scale terrorist memorializing features in the design by making them all a little bit “off,” and it only establishes the long term Islamo-fascist goal of one day restoring the Crescent mosque to its intended configuration, the same way the jihadists now use re-possession of the al-Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem (the Dome of the Rock) as a motivation driving the Jews out of Israel.

Most ridiculous of all is the Bowl of Embrace redesign, which leaves every particle of the original Crescent of Embrace design completely intact, only adding some surrounding trees. http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z36/AlecRawls/CrescentandBowlstacked65.jpg “Here, put on this burka, then you can sneak your bomb on board the airplane.”

The proper answer, when someone is caught trying to sneak an Islamo-fascist plot through gate security, is not to tell him to go back outside and try again. It is to cart him away.

Allah wants the death of Jews say school textbooks
October 19th, 2007 under CAIR, Islam, Islamification of the West, Religion of Peace. [ Comments: 1 ]

It is good to learn new things. For instance, I learned today that there is a government entity which goes by the name of the United States Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF – one would think, with all that tax payer money at their disposal, they could come up with a name that made a better acronym). I didn’t know this group existed. Now, I know what your thinking. Your thinking “F-ing George Bush, making a spending on tax payer dollars on telling other countries how to handle their religion.” Well, chill out there Sparky, because this commission came into existence in 1998 – a full three years before W took office – so blame Billy boy for that one.

One thing I found the USCIRF does is keep an eye on the Islamic Saudi Academy (ISA) over there in Fairfax County, VA. The ISA sits on land owned by the Saudi Embassy, which I suppose would make it soveriegn Saudi territory, but I could be wrong since I am yet a few hours short of my “Bachelors of International Real Estate Affairs” degree. However, the private school does have Americans included in its approximately 1,000 member student body.

The USCIRF is asking the State Department to close down the school (I didn’t even know the State Department had any say in the school system in the US, let alone a private school). USCIRF says the school is telling the kids to go out and kill Jews and Christians, and even Shiite Muslims and other Muslims who are not following the teachings of Islam. But since there are several teachings, I guess it would be the Saudi-approved teaching of Islam. You know, the type of teachings that gave us such proponents of love and tolerance as Osama Bin Laden and most of the 9/11 terrorists. Your basic “Religion of Peace” teachings it seems.

The textbooks, supplied by the Saudis (natch!), it is claimed, say things along the lines of “the hour of judgment will not come until Muslims rise up and kill all the Jews.” In addition, the textbooks call Jews and Christians pigs and apes (but seriously, who cares? sticks-n-stones, right?). All that in addition to discussing how, in general, their god sanctions violence against the Jews and Christians.

I don’t know what the State Department can do about it really. I don’t know that they can close down the school. What they are teaching is wrong, but what can be done about it? If the parents of the children don’t pull their kids out of the school, then they are at least passively agreeing with the violent teachings.

Oh, and oddly enough, CAIR’s website is blatantly silent on this deal. For folks that claim to represent mainstream Muslims in America, they don’t seem to be to worked up about a Muslim school telling the kiddies it is ok to kill Jews, Christians, Shiites, Infedels, fags, trannies and uppity women. I wonder why?

All this, brought to you – once again – by your friendly neighborhood “Religion of Peace.”

Great Danes!
October 17th, 2007 under Morality, Persecution, Religion of Peace. [ Comments: 2 ]

Postcard from DenmarkThe Danes require admiration and respect in this world. It should be recalled that it was newspapers in Denmark which had the cajones to print the now infamous “Mohamed” cartoons which gave cause to the patrons of the “Religion of Peace” to riot and demand the collective heads of the Danes (all in the name of peace, I am certain). Now, they have stepped up to the plate again and have offered State protection to one who is in danger, and not even one of their own.

Ayaan Hirsi Ali was a politician in the Netherlands in 2004. That same year Dutch television aired a short film titled “Submission.” The film was an exposé on the treatment of women in the Muslim world. For this film, a true believer of the Religion of Peach brutally murdered the filmmaker, Theo van Gogh. Attached to van Gogh’s lifeless corpse was a note threatening Ali. Since then the Dutch have offered her State protection. But recently the Dutch government removed that protection, leaving Ali exposed to the perpetrators of the Religion of Peace.

However, the Danes have stepped up and offered her protection so long as she lives in Denmark. Who could ask for more than that? This ladies own country won’t offer her protection, but the Danes will.

Read more about it over at Atlas Shrugs – and a lot more about the plight of the heroine Ayaan Hirsi Ali.
