Geert Wilders’ movie FITNA, which is critical of Islamic Supremacists, was being streamed at LiveLeak.com. It seemed there was at least one last bastion of freedom on the Internet. But they have pulled the movie due to threats of a "very serious nature."
Unfortunately, I didn’t get the change to view it last night, so when I went to look at it to day, this is what is playing:
It is indeed a sad day when the followers of the "Religion of Peace" are so kind and peace loving they will threaten bodily injury and death to anyone who speaks against them.
UPDATE: I found a version of the movie on the YouTube. I don’t know how long it will last. I’ll try to keep the video link below current, but you just never know.
UPDATE UPDATE: If there are problems with the below vids from the YouTube, FITNA can viewed at "1389Blog – Antijihadist Tech" – where they are hosting it themselves. And I’m pretty damned certain the team at 1389Blog won’t be caving into the Islamic Supremacists and their murdering cohorts any time soon. Oh, and BTW, one my also see the film that got Theo Van Gogh murdered by those "religion of peace" followers.

CHRC: "I don’t give [freedom of speech] any value" |

I’ve said before, and I’ll say it again, ‘Woe to you folks up in Canada who believe you have a modicum of free speech’. This week there was a hearing regarding the practices of the Canadian Human Rights Commission. This is the governmental body in Canada which is charged with investigating and punishing thought crimes hate speech.
I’ve stated here before that Canadians are being fooled into thinking they have freedom of speech. But that they really don’t. They can’t say or write anything that might "bring ridicule or contempt" upon a person or group of people. The CHRC have been jackbooting their way through people’s lives. Scouring the Internet for anything they could find that would enable them to drag people before "The Commission". Oh, and like the Mounties, "The Commission" always gets their man. They have a 100% guilty rate for people who have been judged by them.
For those not in the know, the CHRC is not a judicial body. They are not law enforcement. They don’t require search warrants or wire taps. And on slow days, they log onto Internet sites, using fictitious names trying to goad and bait people into saying something the commission can then charge them with.
I know, I know…all of this seems like some strange movie akin to Orwell’s 1984, or "V for Vendetta" but it is real. The CHRC agents have even gone so far as to illegally hijack some private citizens’ wireless Internet connection in order to anonymously log onto the web sites they are investigating in order to mask their IP addresses. I guess these thugs have never heard of anonymous proxies. There are plenty around.
At one point in the hearings, the CHRC’s Dean Steacy was asked "What value to do you give to freedom of speech?" to which Steacy replied:
"Freedom of speech is an American concept, so I don’t give it any value … It’s not my job to give value to an American concept."
Exactly what I have been trying to say. The Canadian government, by way of the CHRC places absolutely no value on free speech for your poor Canucks. It is frightening really.

Thanks to the super great tech folks over at SHANJE.NET (my host), within about 45 minutes of opening my trouble ticket, they had it all resolved and had the database purring along again.
I can’t say enough good stuff about those people. In the almost 10 years I have been hosting with them, I think I have had about 4 problems in all. They are constantly up and running, and the whole thing is just so smooth, I don’t even have to think about all that behind-the-scenes stuff usually.

From Wilders’ party’s home page. The film is available through the LiveLeak website. It probably hasn’t been translated or subtitled into English, so I don’t know how understandable it is. I haven’t seen it yet, but plan on watching it this evening, even if I have trouble understanding it.

Wilders’ ‘FITNA’ released via the web |

I don’t know exactly where it is yet. But I’m looking for it. I’ll post a link when I find it. Probably will be on the YouTube by this evening. If anyone out there has a link to it, please let us know.
AMSTERDAM, Netherlands: Dutch lawmaker Geert Wilders released a film criticizing Islam and its holy book the Quran on Thursday, posting it on a Web site.
The film took the form of a book, citing verses of the Quran interspersed with images of violence from terrorist attacks in the United States and Spain, and the murder of filmmaker Theo van Gogh in the Netherlands.
The Dutch government had warned Wilders that a film offensive to Muslims could spark violent protests in Islamic countries, like those two years ago after the publication of cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad.
Wilders’ film began and ended with one of the cartoons portraying Mohammed. Then it gave the sound effect of a page being torn.
But subtitles assured the viewer that it was a page from a telephone book, because "it’s not up to me, but the Muslims to tear the hate-sowing pages out of the Quran."
After the release, Wilders told reporters he made the film because "Islam and the Quran are dangers to the preservation of freedom in the Netherlands in the long term, and I have to warn people of that."
"It’s not a provocation, but…it’s five minutes before midnight and this is the last warning as far as I’m concerned."
A Dutch judge was due on Friday to hear the petition of a Muslim group seeking an independent review of the film to see whether it violates hate speech laws.

How many US Reps does 2M barrels of oil buy? |

Last night I caught the beginning of the 10 pm news. This story was the lead. I noticed that, while the names and states these asshats represent were discussed, their party affiliation was not.
Now, way back in high school and college when I was taking journalism classes, we learned that when dealing with an elected official..like say…oh…a congressman, the proper syntax (ok, they said ’style’ but I prefer syntax) is to state the person’s name, then in parentheses their party affiliation and state. Here is an example Sen. Robert Dole (R-KS). See? Always with the party.
But the news story last night, it didn’t tell us if the lawmakers that took the Saddam sponsored junket were dems or repubs. I told the 5/8 and No. 1 Son that those three had to be democrats, because if they had been republicans, the news bimbo would have said so. Instead of the headline being "Saddam Paid for Lawmakers’ Iraq Trip" the headline would have read "Saddam Paid for Republican Lawmakers’ Iraq Trip."
No. 1 Son had some trouble understanding why. I tried to explain to him that the news reporting is mostly biased towards the leftards. That most of the reporters and editors are leftards, and glorify the likes Chavez and Castro, which is why we see so little news about the piss-poor living conditions, and the atrocious human rights violations that occur there.
I don’t think he completely understood what I was getting at. But he’ll learn. We all had to learn that lesson. The hard lesson when we discovered that Dan and Peter and Tom weren’t giving us the full, un-biased skinny and any damn thing they talked about.
Now, the question is, did these fellows know their trip was sponsored by the Butcher of Baghdad? Probably not. I don’t believe that any lawmaker who would travel to Iraq on the eve of the US invasion could be smart enough to figure it out. But then again, only they know. I mean, it was, after all, paid for by a charity group. And seriously, how would these male-bimbos know they guy who runs the charity was getting oil in exchange for getting them to Iraq?
I’m certain though, if the congressmen would have been republicans, we’d be hearing all the screaming and crying of corruption that the leftards are so good at spewing.

Forest Lake event canceled; too political |

I…I…I’m completely speechless. Seriously. I don’t even know what to say to this…
A national tour featuring decorated veterans from the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan won’t be stopping at Forest Lake Area High School today as planned, after school leaders abruptly canceled the visit.
Steve Massey, the school principal, said the decision to cancel was prompted by concerns that the event was becoming political rather than educational and therefore was not suitable for a public school.
He said the school had received several phone calls from parents and others, some of whom indicated that they may stage a protest if the event took place.
"The event was structured to be an academic classroom discussion around military service. We thought we’d provide an opportunity for kids to learn about service in the context of our history classes," Massey said. "As the day progressed, it became clear that this was becoming a political event … which would be inappropriate in a public setting.
"We decided to cancel," Massey said. Organizers of the National Heroes Tour then scrambled to relocate the event to the American Legion building in Forest Lake. The visit, which U.S. Rep. Michele Bachmann, R-Stillwater, had been scheduled to attend, is sponsored by Vets for Freedom, a national organization run by Pete Hegseth, a 1999 graduate of Forest Lake Area High School who served with the 101st Airborne in Iraq in 2005-06.
"I think it’s extremely unfortunate that a school would bow to the political pressure of outside groups and not bring in a veterans organization," Hegseth said. "Are we saying that patriotism and duty and honor have no place in our public schools?" So far, the tour has visited one school, albeit a private school.
The stop in Forest Lake was supposed to involve about 150 social studies students and was going to be closed to the public but open to the media. But the last-minute venue change left Hegseth wondering how many people would actually show up today.
"I don’t know if we’ll have a crowd," he said. "We changed venues, but we don’t have the ability to publicize it." He said he had talked with school officials ahead of time and assured them that the presenters would not make any political statements.

Crescent of Betrayal… |
| March 26th, 2008 under Crescent of Betrayal. [ Comments: none ]

Editor’s Note: I have been part of this blogburst for many months now. I fully support this endeavor. We, as Americans, cannot….must not allow a memorial which is supposed to enshrine the heroes and victims of Flight 93 for all times, be hijacked by those who wish to honor the perpetrators of this heinous event. Please, I beg of you, please sign at least the electronic petition. It won’t cost you anything but a few minutes of your time. Americans must stand up for justice. This sham of a memorial MUST be stopped. ~Thank you
Petition for Congressional investigation
A petition to stop the crescent memorial is now being circulated on the ground in western Pennsylvania. As a complement to this old fashioned canvassing effort, an electronic petition has also been created at ipetitions.com. Please circulate far and wide!
The petitions highlight four cases of apparent Islamic symbolism in the memorial design. Here is the text (electronic):
Call for Congressional investigation of Islamic symbolism in the Flight 93 memorial
Many features of the chosen Flight 93 Memorial design are intolerable:
1. THE GIANT CRESCENT. The centerpiece of the original “Crescent of Embrace” design was a giant red Islamic shaped crescent. Every particle of this original crescent design remains completely intact in the so-called redesign, which only added a few irrelevant trees. The giant crescent is still there.
2. IT POINTS TO MECCA. The giant crescent points to Mecca. A crescent that Muslims face into to face Mecca is called a "mihrab," and is the central feature around which every mosque is built. The Flight 93 Memorial is on track to become the world’s largest mosque.
3. THE ISLAMIC SUNDIAL. The minaret-like Tower of Voices is a year-round accurate Islamic prayer-time sundial (one of many typical mosque features that are realized in the crescent design, all on the same epic scale as the half mile wide central crescent).
4. THE 44 BLOCKS. There are 44 glass blocks on the flight path, equaling the number of passengers, crew, AND terrorists. Intentional or not, these features are entirely unacceptable. This travesty must stop and investigations must begin.
1) We the undersigned call on our state and federal legislators to undertake their own thorough and independent investigations of the Flight 93 Memorial design. The truth must come out.
2) We ask that the crescent design be scraped entirely and that it be replaced with a new design that is not tainted by Islamic or terrorist memorializing symbolism.
3) We demand a fitting and proper memorial that HONORS the brave men and women of Flight 93.
Please take a minute to electronically sign this petition. All signatures collected by the end of April will be printed out and delivered to the May 3rd public meeting of the Memorial Project, along with Xeroxes of the hand-signed petitions.
That is just the start. There will be another public meeting in August, where we hope to present a much larger pile of petitions, and all signatures will eventually be delivered to the Pennsylvania state legislature and to Congress. Keep sending until the crescent design is stopped!
In the short term, we have a number of supporters in the Pennsylvania legislature at this point who are working to gain backing for an investigation. A demonstration of public demand should help that effort.
The paper petition
In order to make the paper petition self-sufficient, there is a second page, to be printed on the back of the petition, that provides explanations and graphical documentation of the four highlighted cases of Islamic symbolism. The idea is to have a petition that can circulate virally. Anyone can print it out and have enough information right on the petition itself to know that the objections are legitimate. (Mailing instructions are also included.)
Here are the back-side explanations of the four intolerable features:
1. THE GIANT CRESCENT
The original Crescent of Embrace design was a giant Islamic shaped crescent with the crash site placed between the crescent tips, in the position of the star on an Islamic crescent and star flag:
The redesign was supposed to eliminate these Islamic symbol shapes, but as Congressman Tom Tancredo wrote to the Park Service in November 2007, these features remain completely intact in the so-called redesign, which only disguised the crescent with a few additional trees. Architect Paul Murdoch’s refusal to eliminate the Islamic symbol shapes suggests intent, but intentional or not, these symbol shapes are unacceptable. Congressman Tancredo is now calling for the crescent design to be scrapped in its entirety, and we join in that request.
2. IT POINTS TO MECCA
Several credible analysts have found that a person facing directly into the giant crescent (still present in the redesign) will be facing almost exactly at Mecca:
The green “qibla” circle in the graphic above is from the prayer-direction calculator at Islam.com. It shows the direction to Mecca from Somerset PA (ten miles from the crash site). The red arrow shows that a person standing between the crescent tips and facing into the center of the crescent will be facing almost exactly at Mecca.
This Mecca orientation claim must be authoritatively investigated and answered. If it is true that the crescent points to Mecca, and hence can serve as an Islamic prayer direction indicator (the central feature around which every mosque is built), then whether this construct was intentional or not, it indelibly taints the design.
3. THE ISLAMIC SUNDIAL
Anyone can see the overt similarity between a traditional Islamic sundial (left-hand image) and Tower of Voices part of the Flight 93 Memorial (right-hand image):
When the shadow of the traditional sundial reaches the outer curved vertical in this photo, it will be time for Islamic afternoon prayers. Shadow calculations confirm that, on any day of the year, when the shadow of the 93 foot tall crescent shaped Tower of Voices reaches the inner arc of trees, it will also be time for Islamic afternoon prayers.
4. THE FORTY-FOUR BLOCKS
Tom Burnett Sr. does not want Tom Junior’s name inscribed on one of the 44 translucent blocks that are to be emplaced along the flight path. Forty-four is the number of passengers, crew, AND terrorists:
The left side of this graphic shows the Memorial Wall, which follows the path of Flight 93 down to the point of impact. At eye level are 43 glass blocks. Forty are inscribed with the names of the 40 heroes. Three are inscribed with the 9/11 date.
Right-hand image: the 44th glass block sits at the end of the Entry Portal Walkway, where the flight path crosses the upper crescent tip. It marks the spot where, in architect Paul Murdoch’s description, the terrorists broke our humanitarian circle, turning it into a giant (Islamic shaped) crescent. This circle-breaking, crescent-creating feat is memorialized by the inscription: “A field of honor forever.”
The Park Service dismisses the suspicious block count on the grounds that the 44th glass block is much larger than the others. Mr. Burnett is not comforted by the magnificence of the 44th block, and neither are we. This design must be stopped, and investigations must be launched!
Other petition formats
The same four intolerable features are described in the annotated "Map of Betrayal" that was the subject of one of last month’s blogbursts. Thus the map makes a perfectly serviceable back side for the petition, providing an alternative petition/flyer combination.
The information on the map is denser than the explanations above, but has its own intrigue, showing how the different terrorist memorializing parts fit together like an elaborate puzzle.
The petition being circulated on the ground now in Pennsylvania is still another variation. It has slightly different wording than the electronic petition, and slightly different explanations of the four points than presented above. All the different formats are interchangeable. They all highlight the same four objectionable features, and they will all be delivered together to state and federal legislators.
Until we get a Congressional investigation, the petition will be an ongoing tool for raising awareness and registering opposition. If you participate in any activist fora or email lists, please forward the text and links along. (The electronic and paper-petition links are collected together on this petition Page at CrescentOfBetrayal.com.)

People who live in oppression, just can’t understand |

Linda S. Heard wrote in the Gulf News web-site – which I believe when they say "gulf" they mean Persian Gulf, not down Mississippi way because when one clicks "Nation" for national news, they get news about the UAE – in which she calls freedom of speech an "Admirable Concept" and explains how the West doesn’t really have free speech.
The main point of her misguided, but very well written rant, is that while we may think we have free speech, we really don’t. She cites some hate-speech examples in Europe. She believes that some US states have laws against blasphemy which, I have to see to believe. The whole wall between church and state that the left is just so nuts about would seem to impede any laws regarding blasphemy. I could be wrong (but I’m not).
She spends a bit of her time with Geert Wilders’ movie "FITNA" which is causing quite a ruckus with those peace loving followers of Mohamed. So peace loving in fact, that Wilders is under state protection in the Netherlands, and the Dutch are preparing for the worst when the film is finally released.
She states if the Dutch government really wanted to stop the film from being shown, they could. Which is completely false. All Wilders has to do is release the film in the USA, from US servers. See, as much as Heard wants to believe that our first amendment is an "Admiral Concept", what she doesn’t, and probably will never understand, is that it is so much more than that. It is sacred. Freedom of speech…religion…to peaceably assemble…these are not concepts. These are not some high ideals that we only strive for. These are not the edicts of ayatollahs and imams that will get us into heaven, but which are nigh impossible to attain.
Jesus said that if we only had the faith to fill a mustard seed, we could command a mountain to move, and it would move. But in reality, that kind of faith is simply unattainable in the human realm, with our limited mind and inability to fully comprehend God in all his glory. Something similar to Heard I think. She simply cannot (or more probably will not) comprehend 1) what this freedom is; and 2) what it actually and truly means to us, as Americans.
There is a reason the framers of our country placed that amendment first. It is the most important of all the freedoms they have guaranteed for us. That document was drafted with copious debate, and nothing is in there, or placed, by accident. Every letter, every piece of punctuation, is intentional. It is where it is supposed to be.
She claims that Wilders’ film will serve as a recruiting tool for extremist groups:
Furthermore, it will serve as a recruiting tool for extremist groups calling for a jihad against the new Crusaders.
Shame on him and shame on those who would prioritise the so-called rights of this imbecile over the heartfelt pleas of Muslims in the Netherlands and around the world!
Shame on us? Shame on the freedom loving people? What about the please of the non-Muslims in the Spain and England who didn’t want their trains bombed? What about the please of the Israelis in settlements constantly being bombed by the Muslims. Are the bombs they send in heartfelt? Probably not.
Heard will never understand what it means to be free. She will never understand what freedom of speech is really about.
As for Wilders’s film, given his known detestation of Islam, one can only wonder about his motives for making it. Rather than exemplifying his freedom to express his views, it is likely to be 15 minutes of pure, unadulterated hate probably designed to cause an even greater rift between Muslims and non-Muslims than already exists.
The question which Heard does not ask. And will never explore, is why does that right exists in the here and now? Why is there such a great divide between Muslim and non-Muslim? Could it be that the non-Muslim is horrified at the Muslim treatment of women? That non-Muslims can’t understand why converting from Islam to a different religion is punishable by death? Could it be that the non-Muslim simply can’t fathom that the victim of a gang-rape is punished, then pardoned by the Muslim government? I’m certain Heard will discount any of these things for helping to create, and keep the divide between Muslims and non-Muslims. I’m certain Heard has some other far-reaching reason, and all fault will be placed squarely on the shoulders of us Westerners. Oh and the Israelis, can’t forget them, it’s their fault too.
Let’s not forget, the reason for the riots last year, the burnings of buildings, and the deaths were not the Muslims. Sure, they perpetrated the atrocities, but who could blame them? Newspapers in the Netherlands and Denmark published the Mo’ Toons. I mean seriously, if that isn’t a reason for wholesale lawlessness, what is?
